Japanese volleyball history

The Japan volleyball team is strong in the world. Woman's volleyball team is very strong. Before, I talk about volleyball history and origin. This time, I talk about Japanese volleyball history.

Japan, Russia and the United States each started national volleyball associations during the 1920s.
And when U.S. soldiers brought the game overseas during World War II, the sport spread through the rest of Europe like wildfire.

In 1964, volleyball was first played in the Olympics in Tokyo. Volleyball became a part of the Olympic Games. Also, in the 1964 Olympics, the Japanese used a volleyball that consisted of a rubber casing with leather panels. A similar ball is used in modern volleyball competitions.
In women's volleyball, Japan took the gold, the USSR took the silver and Poland was awarded the bronze medal. (From Woman's Olympic Volleyball History | LIVESTRONG.COM)

In 1974, Japan telecasted a major volleyball event in Mexico, the World Championship.

Today, The Japan women's national volleyball team ranked 3rd (as of 2011-11-18) by the FIVA.

Japanese is not well build, However The Japan national volleyball team is storong in the world. Because they make use of Speed and Technique. The Japan national volleyball team attack speed is so quick. The Japan national volleyball team is my favorite volleyball team in the world.
